Palais De Mahe - CGH Earth is a retreat that resembles a French mansion, located in the White Town of Pondicherry (or Puducherry). There are however lots of things to like. It is just footsteps away from the famed promenade - far enough to keep the noise away and near enough for you to stroll over in flip-flops and catch the breeze at any time of night or day. The best feature of the hotel are the two restaurants which are ran by Chef Kathiresan. Maison and Palais de mahe are CGH earth hotels. Chef Kathiresan gave us a cooking lesson which produced some exquisite fish and vegetable curries . This hotel or its more traditional sister, Maison Perumal are full of simple pleasures that add to the delights of Pudicherry. For experiential stay do visit our other destinations also. There is adjacent building work to extend the hotel but, when we were there, work was suspended for the main tourist season and had no impact. Palais de Mahe is a minute away from the famous promenade and to our luck the local authorities have opened the promenade from 5 am to 9 pm.
