Despite their best network, the IRS computers work slowly. It can take the IRS years to find you. Though moving around can forestall your day of reckoning, it is not the way to avoid it… unless perhaps your objective is to wait out the statute of limitations for collection… 10 years.
If you owe taxes and the collection statute is not in sight, then deal with the IRS as soon as possible. Delay will only cost you additional interest and penalties and even more aggravation and anxiety. You will also then face a more hostile IRS. Before you confront the IRS, you must protect and position yourself so that can bargain with the IRS more on your terms, not their terms!
